I think the idea behind this quote is that we all create our own families. We can’t expect to be part of someone else’s family and we can’t expect them to be part of ours. We have to create our own, sometimes with just one person and sometimes with a group of people. As we grow, we often find that we have to build new families for ourselves because friends and family change and we can no longer be around them. It seems like a sad thing to say, but to each what belongs to him or her.
